New member unable to post things

Hi, I joined this forum back in 2013, but have been unable to post anything for some reason. I wrote the webmaster about the problems last Sept. and got a response from an Angela B. one month later which said that my account was active, but as of today, I am still not able to find a way. I can't find any option for making a new post anywhere on the website, and the one time I did stumble onto one, it said I did not have authorization. I have a 2012 Mazda3 with 60K miles on it now, and have questions about its maintenance, etc. Last oil change, the dealer told me we should replace the spark plugs at a cost of $160, whereas in the manual it says to do it at 75K miles. And I have other questions about brake fluid, ATF, and doing some of the maintenance items myself. Thanks for any help on using this forum successfully, and/or on my spark plug question.

I would like to participate on this site but seems that it has some obscure rule that doesn't permit it until one posts an introduction. While this is a great way to make a site seem active, I don't see the value in creating "clutter". I don't really want to know details about the new members as I am more interested in actual contributions/discussions.

Just a tip here: several people have asked for various degrees of help on this thread.

It`s a new member introduction thread, not a help thread. You`d be far better served heading over to the section that caters to your year and category of question.

Hover your pointer over the "forum" button in the upper left of the window (not all the way at the top, just the general area). Find the category your question is about, then hover over that. Then pick the year that applies to your vehicle and click on that. Chances are if you do a little reading you`ll find your question has been asked before. If you can`t find any info or are pretty sure your question is entirely unique, go back to the upper left general area and click "start new thread". Then ask away, and be as specific as possible. There are plenty of people on here with the experience to help solve just about any problem, you just have to ask in the right place.

Yup, the idea at least, is to ask all new users to make an introductory post before the rest of the forum is opened up to a new user id; this in turn *should* limit the number of spam posts we get. Maybe good in theory, but currently we're enduring a hybrid spambot attack where they've figured out the whole introductory post thing. :(

Hi. Stepping into the Mazda 3 world from an Rx-8. Looking into modifying this little thing. Any advice outside of something I can read (experience) would be appreciated. Been looking for a turbo kit lately and cant seem to find a good web link.
