Love the car but thinking about getting rid of it - A/C performance doesn't cut it during Texas summers.

This is probably a stupid question but have to you tried recharging it? And if that doesn't work are you sure your compressor is working right? I have the exact same car and I have ice cold A/C. I'm in New York tho so I'm assuming it hasn't been used as much as your Texas car has. It's prolly just worn out. Like a snowball rolling through the seventh level of hell

There's also some issues on this generation of 3s where the circuitry that is supposed to keep the evaporator from freezing is overly sensitive and causes the a/c to cut off when there isn't a problem. It's an issue in warmer climates. I know some forum members have modified theirs to either have a switch or have bypassed the functionality to make the a/c blow consistently cold. Can you feel the a/c cycling on and off while the a/c light remains steady on? Cycling is the telltale sign of this problem.
